ÆRØSKØBING
Ærøskøbing is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Denmark. The small crooked houses with hollyhocks in front and cobbled stone roads give a fairytale feeling.

There are many pretty walks around the town.

Molestien is a path with lovely gardens on one side and the sea on the other.
.
One can also walk up to Ærøskøbing windmill, then along Lovers walk (Kærlighedsstien) with a view down over the town and the neighbouring islands.

The Europa-Nostra prize was awarded to Ærøskøbing for its great cultural value.

The beach huts

The first bathing huts appeared on Ærø in the 1920s.

The beach huts almost never change hands.

They are under preservation orders, which means that there are many rules concerning things like colour choice, re-building and ownership.

The beaches and the sea

On Ærø one is never far from the sea and a swim.

You can walk to many family-friendly beaches from Pension Vestergade.44.
